Paid Posting Reviews

Why Are Paid Posting Services So Expensive?

The start of the ‘paid posting’ industry began with Forum Launch in the summer of 2005. Being first in unfamiliar territory, Forum Launch kept cost of posts at a surprisingly low price of about 15 cents per post. Forum Elves was next to open, a few months later. Forum Launch being it’s only competition, Forum Elves made their posts slightly cheaper. Now fast forward one year later with paid posting being a large rapidly growing industry and with over 40 other services in the market. Now the average price per post is over 25 cents! What happened? Isn’t competition supposed to be good for consumers?
Forum Posting has emerged from being a fun hobby to a money making opportunity. With the cost of posters, advertising and paypal fees these services soon realized that keeping the posts at these minimal prices will not make them any money. But could those few factors really make prices nearly double?
The industry was quick to learn that forum owners prefer quality over quantity in the posts they receive. Services were able to increase prices without any complaints or decrease in purchases by simply promising better quality posts. Even with the longer and better posts, isn’t a quarter per post a little too much? It might seem like it, but it really isn’t. You have to remember forum posting is a job and people expect to get paid. Let’s break down the quarter: $.04 goes to the owner. $.04 goes to advertising. $.02 goes to PayPal. $.15 goes to the actual poster.
Now let’s follow the money further as the poster gets it. Paypal takes an extra $.01 once the money gets to the poster. Now the poster gets $.14 per post. A good thought-out post takes about two minutes to make. After doing the math it works out that the poster gets $4.2/hour, which is below minimum wage in most countries with internet.
Now after all is said and done it’s time for the year-old question; is purchasing posts really worth it? If you ask anyone who hasn’t ordered paid posting for their forum before they would say no. However, ask someone who did. Most of the people who have ordered posting were happy with it and in fact kept ordering posts for their forum. To conclude, you might think that people are just getting rich of your money, but the truth is they aren’t. It is true that during the year the price of posting grew even more dramatically than the price of gas in the USA, but unlike gas the quality of posts increased. Posters and Poster-Employers alike work hard to earn your business.
